Quick Change!

I was clearing out my cupboards, and came across these 2 ice cream sundae cups. Now the last time I used them was for my daughter's Hello Kitty  birthday party 2 years ago as candy dishes (which explains the pink and red ribbon). And they've never been used since.

Until now!

I know what you're all thinking "wow all you did was turn them upside down."

Don't they look so much better this way.
But God showed me something in this quick little change, that I thought I'd share with you.

"Sometimes we maybe not be used the way we want to by God or think we could ever be used, but He sure knows how to get the best results out of us!"

Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

A craft a day keeps the boredom away!

I never claim to have the most original of ideas, because thanks to Pinterest everybody has your idea!
But this one came to me due to the fact that I don't hang up a lot of the kids art work due to :
1. Lack of frames
2. It's too much work to frame all of their art work all of the time.
So here's my "TIP OF THE SUMMER"
Use the back of a plain white gift box and tape the inside corners so it will stay open and there you have an instant canvas.  You can hang it up on your existing nails or depending on the size of the box you might be able to hang right over existing picture frames, for temporary display.
These are dollar store boxes, I had on hand, I'm sure you might just have a stash left over from the holidays.

So I've been on a collage art kick lately and it would only be fitting that my kids do the same.
So we used our blank canvas to create letter collages.

I wrote their initials on the box
We cut out some brightly colored patterned pieces of paper from magazines and left over scrap and glued onto our written letters.

This is a great activity to do when teaching your preschoolers the alphabet.

Happy Crafting!

Can't keep up with Summer!

It's already been super busy this summer, so thanks to PicMonkey I'll be able to keep my post short but sweet!

We got right into summer fun as soon as school ended! We love our water play area at the botanical gardens. Plan on getting every cent of my money's worth from our membership!

Then off to the big city where we celebrated the bridal shower of my soon to be sister Angie and my brother Dan. We are so happy for them! And my parents sure look great!

My other brother Dave the twin to the groom to be was off being a missionary to Africa, the only excuse in the book that will work for him having to miss this! ( But he was so heartbroken not to be there, and he was missed)

The bride to be has such a beautiful, big, loving and hospitable family that gave them such a wonderful shower, full of food, and gifts! We had fun teasing the soon to be newlyweds with some "How well do you know each other games".

And my mom and I didn't hesitate to join in on the fun!  By the way I won the title of "Best looking toilet paper bride" thanks to my fabulous design team of my sister in law Missy and Mama 'Tino".

Then we did something we'd never done before, my husband and I left our kids with their grandparents for an entire 7 days, for a little R and R.

My wonderful husband sacrificed himself by driving 2 weekends in a row back and forth so that I could go on a little girls trip for 3 days.

We had a blast not being mommies for 3 days and 2 nights (It's ok to say that sometimes)!
Love those hot chicks!

But I was so happy to come home to my wonderful man, for the rest of the week (with no kids in the house WOOOWHOOOO)
We went on lunch and dinner dates every night that week (but shhhh don't tell the kids that ;)

Well there's much more to share, but my quiet time is not so quiet anymore (Nap time is over)

to be continued...
