A Blogaversary! A year ago today I ventured to start a journey that truthfully I didn't think I'd follow through with. A whole lot has changed and stayed the same throughout this year, like the birth of our third and FINAL child, our dear friends and Pastor moved away and in an ironic twist of fate my husband is on a business trip just as he was a year ago today :( miss you babe!
It may not be one of the most viewed blogs out there or have all the fancy bells and whistles that most do, but you know what, it's the most precious and valuable one to me because it's saved our family memories, shared them with loved ones not near to us and birthed a creativity in me I never thought I had.
So, in keeping this short but sweet (like my very first post) I'd like to encourage and challenge any of you reading this today that would love to start "blogging" but think they just don't have the time or it wouldn't be interesting enough. He's my answer to you... You do and it will be!

I don't understand why Cupid was chosen to represent Valentine's Day. When I think about romance, the last thing on my mind is a short, chubby toddler coming at me with a weapon. Now on the other hand nothing says I love you like Evil Knievel that dude was tough
Anyone can catch your eye, but it takes someone special to catch your heart.
Leslie, I love you, and wanted to express it in a special way that would speak to your heart. Thank you for choosing me, I love you forever.
I found these empty cans in the back yard hmmmm....must have been jazzbone our friendly hobo that uses my shed, anyway make sure they are nice and empty (Pabst just looks cool).
Next I had Gio run to the dinning room and "borrow" another item for our presentation I think Les might have used these in her last craft.
Now Gabi's turn hmm what can we use? then I hear a yell and Gio is attacking Gabi with the heart balloon and it breaks off the stick awesome baby!!!!
Just add some nice ribbon and voila!

It was time to say goodbye to one of dearest and closest friends who have moved to the West Coast, a long ways from here.
Though we know we'll always be friends it's never easy saying goodbye. I'm praying for them because I personally know how they feel. Six years ago we moved away from everything and everyone we knew, but were blessed to find a wonderful pastor and family who treated us like their own. So my prayer for them is that God bless them even more than they blessed us for the last six years.
Now I think what is really going to make me cry right now is talking about "the kids". You see I don't know exactly when, how or why it even happened but our kids became best friends, and so we had to have one last play date this past week. They had a blast even though the mommies were annoying them taking their pictures and crying.
Isn't he a cutie! I use to change his diapers(although I'm sure he wouldn't like me talking about that).
They are so beautiful.
You can't see it in the pic but they're all sitting on top of a very special car bed they gave my son.

It's super cute, easy and cheap.
Here's what you need:
*empty paper towel roll
(depending on what you decide to make
last 2 are optional)
Simply cut the paper towel roll into rings I made mine about half an inch to maybe an inch wide.
I was able to get about 11 out of these.
Next, just pinch the roll in the center, go ahead and give it a good squeeze. After making a few of them I realized I needed to really fold them in good so that they would keep their shape.
Make a little "dipping station" for yourself of glue and glitter. Dip in Glue
Dip in glitter, roll it around good so it's all coated.
And once you let it go you should have a sweet little glitter trim heart shape.
So I decided to use them as decorative tags, and attached to hole punched mini fruit roll ups
with ribbon for my daughter's class.
**Here's a tip: don't bother buying the made for Valentine's day kind fruit roll ups because they're more expensive.**
Although it's a bit small you can write on these however, I suggest writing on them before you glue and glitter.
Here are some ideas:
in floral bouquets
I'd love to see what you can do these.
