O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree la, la, la,la,la,la la

This past weekend we put up our Christmas tree, and it's my favorite so far.

So, if money's tight, you can still have a fabulous tree, just use what you got.(which has been my motto for the last year or so) This year I wanted a very colorful tree, I'm talking primary colors! I'm mean with 3 kids in the house you want it to be fun. So I had them gather some of their little toys and figures, while I sat in my comfy armchair and curled red, blue and a neon greenish-yellow gift ribbon I had on hand.

Once the colored light bulbs were on the tree, I told the kids to start trimming the tree with the toys they had gathered, along with some of those "special ornaments" collected from past years, and school crafts. Of course I had to do some editing because the whole bottom of the tree was decorated and not the top. Then I filled in the empty spots with bunches of the curled ribbon, topped with the star and voila!

Even Barbie and Ken got in on the act!

We had to show off the "Give Thanks" signs the kids and I made a couple of weeks ago.

Thanks to Uncle Dave and Uncle Dan (my brothers) who joined in the festivities this year and kept the kids occupied so I could get the cooking done, they were real troopers!

Adam and the kids along with Uncle Danny's help built our very first gingerbread house. Though it wasn't to structurally sound it sure tasted good!

It just wouldn't be Thanksgiving without being plopped on the couch playing video games(said in a sarcastic tone).

The star of the show Mr.Turkey. Everyone was too kind in saying that it tasted good. But I wouldn't be offended if they didn't like it, cause the truth is I followed no recipes this year, there's less pressure when there's no one elses to compare it to.

All in all it was a nice Thanksgiving, quiet, uneventful and fun! Now Christmas is a whole other story! Keep you posted!

Twigs and Twine

So I'm like a closet crafter. I dabble in it a little bit, but by no means am I a professional and this is no crafting blog, but if it requires a glue gun and minimal to no sewing I'll try it. My motto is "use whatcha got", cause money's tight, and I've learned my lesson in going "all in" from a previous project. So with some twine, twigs and couple of pine cones the kids had collected I got busy.
I will say this I'm totally addicted to reading craft blogs for inspiration.

This one is my favorite, thanks to Craftberry Bush for idea.

I've been wanting something with our monogram. Of course it works only if you have initials with straight letters!

I intend on taking a Thanksgiving photo of the kids holding these.

Salon de Martino

It's a usual Saturday morning; cartoons, crafts, video games and so on... I had noticed something funky going on with Gio's hair, but it didn't strike me as to strange because the day before he had decided to style his hair with a finger full of Adam's lip balm (which is another funny story all on it's own)so even after washing his hair it still had some residue. As I'm cleaning up the craft stuff (scissors included) I found clumps of hair on floor, after investigating them more carefully I knew they were not from Barbie's head but that of a slightly red headed little 2 and a half year old. He didn't deny it and neither did Gabi, she failed to mention earlier that she had seen him with the scissors in one hand, holding his hair in the other. Hmm!

A day off!

A day off from school for Gabi means a day off for me. No need to wake up SO early, get 3 kids fed, dressed and out the door by 8:30ish. Well I still have to feed them but at least we get to stay in our jammies all day!

Finally the playroom is finished, they've been enjoying their space, and so has mom and dad.

He takes his train stuff very seriously.

This is the time of year where we actually use our backyard (NO MOSQUITOES!)
So just got some shots of them being cute and silly, running noses and all!

Yeah Joey was there too!

Still don't know why this picture won't rotate the right way, 'cause I love this picture, my little model looks good even when she's making a CRAZY face.

So Gio found this stick that apparently look like an instrument, because he walked around the whole yard tooting it.
